Breast cancer: Rotary screens 200 women

R otary Club (RC) of Ikeja South, District 9110 Nigeria has kicked off the implementation of the Free Ultrasound Scan Project during which 200 would be screened for .

The screening exercise, which took place at COPE Center in Ikeja, Lagos began on Saturday, August 18.

Out of all the women who had their breasts thoroughly examined, four of them had little issues, which were detected at the early stage.

The Inspiration President of the RC Ikeja South, Yinka Adeosun, in his remarks, said: “I feel quite good in this momentous situation that our dear club, which has succeeded in executing a project capable of saving four lives; today, early breast cancer screening has saved four lives.

“Unequivocally, this is impactful and is efficacious,!” the president of RC concluded.

Members of the club present at the screening center were Inspiration President, Yinka Adeosun, Past Assistant Governor (PAG), Bade Oke, PAG Niyi Adesanya, PAG Remi Bello, Assistant Governor (AG), Remi Babarinde and Past President (PP), Ebun Anozie.
Others are Inspiration Treasurer, Omolara Omotosho, Bernice Eriemeghe, Olusegun Agbi and Olayinka Shobamowo.

The Club of Ikeja South drew the attention of a number of women in the Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos environ when they had a glimpse of the Banner hung outside the screening venue, which depicted a free breast ultrasound scan was taking place there and a few of these women wasted no time in availing themselves of the opportunity.

The second phase of this project continues on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

The club has urged more women to take part in the September screening exercise.
