Anthony Martial has missed Manchester United’s clash with Fulham due to a thigh injury.
The 23-year-old was forced off in the second half of United’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday evening, although Jose Mourinho downplayed the severity of the forward’s injury.
But on Friday, Mourinho admitted that Martial was considered a doubt for the game against Fulham at Old Trafford.
And Martial looked unlikely to feature when he wasn’t spotted at United’s team hotel later on Friday evening.
According to RMC Sport, Martial’s injury is only minor but he remains a doubt for United’s trip to Valencia in the Champions League next Wednesday.
Martial’s absence means that Romelu Lukaku starts in attack after the Belgian was dropped to the bench for the midweek match against Arsenal.
When asked what he wanted to see from his side against Fulham, Mourinho told Sky Sports: ‘I want to see the same happiness, the same desire, the same intensity. Let’s see if it’s possible because it was a hard game in which we gave everything.
‘To play days after I don’t know the way the boys are going to react, but no excuse, Fulham also had a difficult match, they will probably be in the same situation as us, both in need of points for different reasons.’
