Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, is hoping to convince the WBC to order the immediate rematch, which would effectively force Wilder to come to terms.

It is unclear if the rematch will be in America or the UK, but Wilder has already suggested Las Vegas as the perfect location.

The location of the second fight may be a serious sticking point in talks, as Wilder benefitted massively from home advantage.

The WBC have rejected criticism of their referees’ scoring, insisting their officials were of ‘unquestionable integrity and honourability’.
