Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants to sign Napoli star Elseid Hysaj as a replacement for Lazio-bound Davide Zappacosta.
Zappacosta, 26, joined Chelsea in 2017 in a £23million deal from Torino but has failed to command a regular starting spot during his 18 months at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian had hoped that the arrival of Maurizio Sarri would boost his chances at the club but he’s just made two league appearances this term and Lazio are in ‘advanced’ talks to sign him, according to the Evening Standard.
His departure will free up funds with Lazio looking at a loan move before an option to buy for around £13m.
Sarri wants to use that to fund a move for Albania international Hysaj, who he worked with in Naples.
The Serie A giants were furious that Jorginho left in conjunction with Sarri for Chelsea last summer and are unlikely to make it easy for the Blues to sign the 24-year-old.
Chelsea will be aided by the fact that Hysaj has resisted signing a new deal at Napoli and the Italians are fearful that he will run his contract down, which expires in 2021.

Zappacosta has failed to impress Sarri and is deemed surplus to requirements in west London.
However, Chelsea want to get Hysaj through the door before allowing the defender to move back to Italy and will prevent him from doing so unless they find a replacement.
